Misamis University received a special citation from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation as an Institution that has been granted an Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Misamis University is the only autonomous university in Northwestern Mindanao.
The entire comMUnity also celebrates with the College of Criminology for the most recent recognition given by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation or PACUCOA. PACUCOA recognized Misamis University as the FIRST and ONLY criminology program in Region X to have been granted level III Reaccredited Status.
The College of Criminology is also recognized by CHED as a Center of Development for the Criminology Program.
